Food and Beverage Manager
Department: Facility Services
Location: Moyock, NC

Primary Purpose:
|
Manages the daily activities of the organization's food and beverage function.
|
|
Essential Functions:
|
- Oversees food and beverage inventory and budget control
- Establish and maintain quality service standards for the department, other responsibilities related to a professional and efficient operation
- Ensure a positive guest experience and consistency according to established standards by providing exceptional internal and external customer service
- Develop and implement innovative customer programs and services targeted to specific customer needs
- Daily supervision of F&B personnel to include: interviewing, staffing, motivating, and training of service/sanitation practices
- Analyze and recommend improvements in policies, programs and services
- Implement any corporate programs and recommend and implement programs and services targeted to customer needs
- Be responsible for the relationship with the F&B vendor
- Ensure practice of health and safety regulations
- Assists in the planning and coordination of special events
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Education/Experience:
|
High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred. Must have 3-5 years food service management experience, preferably in a cafeteria environment. Must have knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers, team members and customer-base). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Working Conditions:
|
Position will be based in a busy working kitchen. The kitchen environment can be hot and humid, and can get very hectic especially around meal times. For part of the day, kitchen supervisors and managers may work in an office away from the kitchen and will be subject to frequent interruptions.

Physical Requirements:
|
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent walking, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
